02 / ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Advancing Social Work and Sustainable Development

The 2025 APISWEA International Conference on Social Work and Social Sciences was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, bringing together scholars, educators, researchers, and practitioners from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

Centered on the theme "Global Transformation and Challenges in Social Work and Social Sciences Toward Achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," the conference provided a platform for academic dialogue on contemporary social, economic, and environmental challenges.

The conference emphasized the application of research findings to social development, professional practice, education, and policy. It encouraged international and interdisciplinary collaboration to address challenges affecting Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
